How our creator programme works
Welcome
We started Rethread to make getting dressed feel better, and the people who wear it best tell that story better than we ever could. If you love the pieces and your audience trusts your eye, we’d love to share what you bring in.
How it works
- Sign up through our creator sign-up page. You’ll add your details and how you’d like to be paid.
- We approve your account, usually within a few days, and send you your personal link and code, plus our brand book with everything you need to know about Rethread and the pieces.
- Share Rethread in your own way: try-ons, styling, real-life wear. Your link and code track every sale you bring in.
- Earn 15% commission on every sale made through your link or code.
- Get paid monthly once your commission reaches R750.
Your commission

If an order is returned or refunded, the commission on it falls away.
What counts as your sale
- Code first, then link. If a customer uses your code, the sale is yours. If no code is used, the sale goes to the last creator link they clicked within 30 days.
- Online orders only. Commission isn’t earned on showroom or in-store sales, wholesale or stockist orders, gift card purchases, or cancelled, returned or fraudulent orders.
Sales and promotions
- Your code doesn’t combine with sales or other promotions. When we run a sale, it won’t give your audience extra off sale prices.
- Commission is still earned on sales made through your link during a promotion, calculated on the price the customer actually paid.
- Only share offers we’ve confirmed with you. Please don’t promote discounts, stacking or deals that aren’t part of the programme.
Getting paid
- We pay at the start of each month for commission confirmed in the previous month.
- Payouts are made once your confirmed balance reaches R750. Anything below that rolls over to the next month.
- Payment is by bank transfer or PayPal, using the details you add to your account.
- You’re responsible for declaring your commission for tax purposes.
- Commission is paid in rand. Any PayPal or bank fees on your side, including currency conversion, are yours.
- If you’re VAT-registered, send us a tax invoice for each payout.
- You can see your clicks, sales and commission at any time in your creator dashboard.
Sharing guidelines
Please do
- Wear and style the pieces your way. Honest, real-life content always works best.
- Tell your audience clearly that you earn from your link, for example with #ad or “affiliate link”, as South African advertising rules require.
- Use your own link and code.
- Tag @rethread_ so we can see and share your content.
- Send customers to us for orders, sizing, returns and complaints. We’ll look after them.
- Use our brand book for information about Rethread and the products. When you talk about a piece, stick to specific, accurate details about the item you’re wearing, such as the fabric, the fit or how it styles.
Please don’t
- Post your code on coupon or discount websites.
- Run paid ads using the Rethread name or your code without our written approval.
- Buy through your own link. Commission isn’t paid on your own purchases.
- Make claims about the products that aren’t true, or use our images in a way that misrepresents the brand.
- Comment on Rethread’s posts or ads with your link or code, or reply to our followers offering a discount. The programme is for sales you bring in through your own audience, not through ours.
- Promote your code as a way to stack discounts or “get extra off” during a sale.
- Post your link or code in other brands’ or creators’ comments, or send it to people in unsolicited DMs.
- Present yourself as Rethread, or as speaking on Rethread’s behalf.
- Create false urgency, for example claiming stock is running out or an offer is ending when it isn’t.
- Place fake or test orders, or ask friends and family to buy through your code just to earn commission and return the items.
- Use “Rethread” in your username, a website address, a hashtag campaign or ad keywords without our written approval.
- Make general statements about sustainability or upcycling. These topics are nuanced, and we don’t want anything misrepresented. Only mention them if it’s specific, accurate information about the piece you’re wearing, taken from our brand book.
- Share your code in group chats, forums or coupon communities outside your own channels.
Your content
- Your content stays yours.
- We may reshare your Rethread posts on our own channels, always with credit to you.
- We won’t use your content or your account in paid ads without agreeing it with you first.
- Please keep your content in line with Rethread’s values. We’d rather not be associated with content that’s offensive or harmful.
The fine print
- Joining is by approval, and we can review or close any account that doesn’t follow these guidelines.
- We may update the programme, including commission rates, with 30 days’ notice. Commission already earned is always honoured.
- Either side can leave the programme at any time. Confirmed commission is paid out at the next payout, even if it’s under R750.
- Gifted pieces or paid collaborations are agreed separately and aren’t part of this programme.
- The programme isn’t exclusive. You’re free to work with other brands.
- If an account has no sales for three months, we may close it. Any confirmed commission is paid out when we do.
- We may withhold or reverse commission on orders that break these terms, and close the account.
- We only use your personal and payment details to run the programme and pay you, in line with POPIA.
- By signing up, you agree to these terms.
