Shipping Times

Local (ZA) - All items will be sent using The Courier Guy, please allow 3-7 working days for Standard Shipping (economy) & 1 - 3 working days for express shipping.

International - All international orders are shipped with FedEx Express Service & take between 3 - 7 working days for delivery.

Please note import duties & taxes per country vary & it is the customers responsibility to find out what these costs are in their destination country & Rethread will not be held liable for the additional fees that may apply.

Free Shipping

We offer free domestic shipping for items over R1500 but, you still have the option to select 'Express Shipping' at checkout.

If you have selected free shipping, your order will be sent with Courier Guy Economy Service service. This means it can take between 3 - 7 days working to arrive. Express orders usually take between 1 - 3 working days. 

We use Courier Guy for all domestic shipments.

Local Pick Up (Cape Town) & Return/Exchange Address
To pick up your order/return or exchange your product, you can use the following address: 1st Floor, 91 Kloof Nek Road (above Dinkel Bakery), Cape Town, 8001. 

To ensure someone is at the Showroom when you would like to collect/exchange/return your order, please indicate what time you intend on coming by booking an appointment via calendly 


We hope you love your purchase! However, should you need to make a return, you will have 14 days from your order date to do so.

For international Orders: We do not accept exchanges or returns for international orders. FedEx charges us (the account holder) based on the size of and weight of the return shipment, and as we cannot control what packaging the parcel is returned in, we often get billed 3 or 4 x the amount originally quoted, and therefore cannot guarantee a refund based off of the shipping costs.

For international orders: Only items below $100 have 'insurance' included by FedEx.

1. To request a return please click here. Log in using the email you used to place your order. Alternatively email

2. You may return full priced items for a refund postmarked within 14 days of your order date. 

3. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs as well as any additional costs that we may incur arranging a return. The amount refunded will be amount paid - shipping costs.

If you prefer: you can also arrange your own return shipping to our address: 91 Kloof Nek Road, 1st Floor (above Dinkel Bakery), Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa, 8001.

Please DO NOT ship items back without an approved return request either via the link or email. If you send items back without making contact with us first, your return will not be processed. 

If you are returning garments via courier or post office you must package it carefully so that it does not become damaged en route.

4. To report damaged items, or if the garments are different from what was ordered, kindly send an email to us within 24 hours of delivery, attaching photos and providing a detailed description. In cases where damage stems from a manufacturing fault or human error on our part, we are pleased to facilitate an exchange or return. However, if damage results from customer negligence, we regret that we cannot accept returns or exchanges.

 6. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, unworn, unwashed and in the same condition that you received it in with the original tags.

7. Returns will be accepted once checked by our team and no defects or damages are found. Please allow 3 - 7 workings days for refunds to reflect. 

8. Rethread is not responsible for items not received due to shipping issues while in transit. 


We only accept exchanges for domestic orders (within South Africa). if you would like to change size, or would prefer a different item or even store credit please email Or visit our showroom - 91 Kloof Nek Road, 1st floor (above Dinkel Bakery), Gardens, 8001. 

All Shipping Costs for returns & exchanges are for the customers account.

Cost of Returns/Exchanges

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning/exchanging any of your items. Shipping costs are non-refundable.  If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.



We accommodate made-to-order garments for certain upcycled pieces.

Due to the nature of upcycling, we are often limited by the supply of base pieces we receive. So we might not always be able to fullfill orders of certain sizes or colours. 

  • Please email or send us a direct message on WhatsApp or social media to enquire about custom orders/made-to-order pieces
  • Payment confirms your order. 
  • We will not start with the order until we have received payment & approved measurements by the customer. 
  • Custom orders CANNOT be returned or exchanged. The sale is final. 
  • We are happy to make small alterations, free of charge if neccessary, but any additional shipping costs are on the customers account.
